Easy Kids’ Snacks: Yoghurt Drinks for Kids


Although kids love yoghurt, they love yoghurt drinks more. And, what is not there to love about a creamy, delicious, and colourful drink. With the goodness of yoghurt, it contains various other ingredients that are beneficial to your health. Hence, it provides your kid with all the essential vitamins and minerals required for the development of the brain, muscles, and bones. Also, it is quite filling and can make your kids feel full. Hence, whenever your kids feel hungry and you do not have any snacks at home, make them a glass of delicious yoghurt drink.

How to make yoghurt drinks?

Once you decide the type of yoghurt drink you want, get all the ingredients. A yoghurt smoothie is one of the easiest recipes you can come across. Not only making yoghurt drinks easy but also consumes very little time. If all the ingredients are available, you can make it in just a few minutes.

  • Begin with adding all the ingredients in a bowl. You can put them directly in the blender as well but using a bowl helps you to gauge the ingredients’ quantity better. However, you can always get creative and turn the leftovers into popsicles by freezing them if you make excess. First, pour some milk and then add yoghurt, and maple syrup or honey. Depending on your preferences, you can add any fruit. The most common fruit yoghurt drinks are strawberry yoghurt drinks and mango yoghurt drinks. In mango yoghurt drinks, you do not need honey or maple syrup as mangoes are already quite sweet. Besides fresh fruits, you can use frozen fruits as well. The taste and nutritional content will stay the same.
  • Once you have put all the ingredients in the blender, it is time to blend. Close the lid of the blender and set the speed to medium-low (It is always a great idea to add a few ice cubes before blending your yoghurt drink as blending can make the drink warmer). Continue to blend the ingredients until they completely mix and turn into a creamy, thick yoghurt smoothie. The total blending time required is not more than 2 to 3 minutes.
  • When everything turns completely smooth, just open the lid and pour the yoghurt drink into a glass. Make sure the drink feels cool before serving.

Making a lassi yoghurt drink or fruity yoghurt drink at home is the best idea. However, it is not always possible to make one. This is when you can consider buying lassi yoghurt drinks from stores. But, be careful while purchasing fruit yoghurt drinks from local brands as they use lots of sugar and artificial flavours. Instead, you should buy from renowned brands like Lactel only.
